Frequently asked questions
Do you only offer services to athletes?
No, our services are not just for athletes. We welcome clients of all ages and backgrounds who are seeking to improve their overall fitness and health, whether that's by achieving their athletic goals or by maintaining an active, healthy lifestyle. We can help older people achieve health goals and turn back the clock of aging, as well as assist lifestyle clients in achieving their personal fitness and wellness goals.
What is the difference between lactate testing and VO2 max testing?
Lactate testing measures the buildup of lactic acid in the blood during exercise, while VO2 max testing measures the maximum amount of oxygen an athlete can use during exercise. Both tests can provide valuable information about an athlete's aerobic fitness, but lactate testing is more focused on identifying an athlete's lactate threshold and training zones.
How does lactate testing help athletes?
Lactate testing can help athletes improve their training by identifying their lactate threshold and determining the intensity of exercise at which lactate begins to accumulate in the blood.
Can you offer nutritional guidance for specific sports or training goals?
Yes, we can offer nutrition guidance tailored to your specific sports or training goals. We have a nutrition scientist on staff who can assess your diet and make recommendations for optimal nutrition to support your performance.
Do you provide sport specific training plans?
Yes, we offer sport specific training plans. Our team and coaches can work with you to develop a plan tailored to your specific sport and goals. Whether you're a runner, cyclist, swimmer, or any other type of athlete, we can create a plan that will help you achieve your best performance.
What kind of clinical tests do you offer?
We offer a range of clinical tests, including body composition analysis, heart rate variability testing, cholesterol tests, blood glucose and A1C. These tests can provide valuable insights into your overall health and athletic performance.
What equipment is available at your training facility?
Our training facility is equipped with state-of-the-art Technogym cardio and strength equipment, including treadmill, skillmill, wattbikes, and free weights. We also have a full range of sports and conditioning equipment, including medicine balls, and resistance bands.
How often should I have my training plan reassessed?
We recommend that you have your training plan reassessed every 6-8 weeks, depending on your individual goals and progress. This allows us to make adjustments as needed and ensure that your training is always optimized for your needs.
What is a lactate threshold and why is it important?
The lactate threshold is the intensity of exercise at which lactate begins to accumulate in the blood. It's important because it indicates the maximum effort level an athlete can sustain for a prolonged period of time without significant fatigue. Knowing your lactate threshold can help you train at the right intensity to improve your performance.
